The 3 different course formats are assessed and moderated according to the same criteria and lead to exactly the same qualification and certificate.

Full time courses

The full-time courses last 4 weeks, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm. (The introduction to the full time courses is always on the day before the start of the course printed below.)

CELTA full-time C5     6 August – 31 August 2018 (This course is now full.)
CELTA full time C7     8 October – 2 November 2018

Part time courses

Our part-time courses last 14 weeks with a one-week break after week 7. The course days are Friday (9am-12.30pm) and Saturday (9am-5.30pm). This provides candidates with the opportunity to use the Friday afternoon to do course work at our centre. The course starts on Saturday so in total candidates need to come to the centre on 13 Fridays and 14 Saturdays.

We don’t run any more part-time courses in 2018.

Online courses

Our online course lasts 15 weeks and candidates will have to come to the centre for lesson planning, observations and teaching practice 14 times from 6pm to 9.50pm, either on Tuesday or Thursday. The first week of the course is solely online and in week 2 & 3 the sessions at the centre are on Tuesday. The rest of the course the sessions will be on Tuesday or Thursday, depending on the group which you are assigned to.

We don’t run any more online courses in 2018.

Course fee

1.595 Euro
Price includes Cambridge registration fee.

In the case of cancellation six weeks or more before the course starting date, 20% of our total fee will be retained. With less than six weeks’ notice, 50% of our total fee will be retained. If cancellation occurs in the final ten days before the starting date our total fee will be retained. In the event of a course being cancelled all fees will be refunded.

Applicants for the course must complete an Application form with a pre-interview task and send it to celta@ihfrankfurt.de. We will then set up an interview, which is a University of Cambridge requirement to be accepted on the CELTA course. (You will need the free Adobe Reader to fill in this form. If you don’t have this programme on your computer, you can download it for free here.) Upon submitting, please add celta@ihfrankfurt.de to your allowed emailing list to prevent email responses from being filtered to your Junk Mail folder.

Together with you we will arrange a time for a telephone interview. Although, nowadays a Skype interview might be more convenient. And if you live near our centre, you are of course invited to come by in person so you can have a look around.
