Teacher Training at
International House Schools
The International House World Organisation (IHWO) is one of the largest and oldest groups of language schools in the world. Founded in 1953, we are a global network of over 150 affiliated private language schools in 52 countries, spanning every continent.
Our schools teach English and a wide variety of other languages and are all independently owned and run. Quality is at the core of everything we do. Only schools that meet our exceptional quality standards are allowed to use the International House brand.
International House pioneered Teacher Training programmes for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and our courses and centres remain some of the most sought after in the industry.
International House Assessment Unit
The International House Assessment Unit moderates and oversees the standardisation of all IH teacher training and development courses run in our network that are certificated by the International House World Organisation. The IH Assessment Unit ensures that course participants who train with an International House school in any location within our network receive the same high standard of training and assessment.
The IH Online Teacher Training Institute allows teachers to study remotely, attending an IH Teacher Training Centre only for periods of assessed teaching practise. All IH online courses are taught by qualified online teacher trainers and often offer flexible study hours.
Teacher Training Centres
International House Teacher Training Centres are scattered across the globe. Use our search and directory to find the closest centre to you, or take the opportunity to study and travel by staying at a centre further afield. In Germany and Switzerland you find Teacher Training Centres at
